Why did my content score drop after re-checking?

by Team PaletteCheckTroubleshootingNov 13, 2025 at 5:39 AM
I checked some content last week and got an 82% score. Today I re-checked the exact same content (didn't change anything) and got a 78% score. What could cause the score to change? I'm confused because the content is identical.

A few things could cause score variation:

Most Likely Causes:

  1. Brand guidelines were edited
Did anyone update the guidelines between checks? New rules = new scoring criteria.
  1. AI model improvements
We continuously improve our analysis models. Sometimes this catches issues that weren't flagged before.
  1. Different guideline selected
Double-check you're using the same brand guideline for both analyses. What to Focus On: Rather than the score number, compare the specific violations between the two analyses:
  • Are there new violations?
  • Did severity levels change?
  • Are the same issues flagged?

Pro Tip: The detailed violation report matters more than the score. An 82% with high-severity issues is worse than 78% with only low-severity issues.
